We are witnessing the rebirth of Adam Brody
The first true charming nerd of international television
October 1st, 2024
Tell me who your favorite character from The O.C. was, and I'll tell you who you are. The American TV series, peak millennial content, arrived in Italy in 2007 and forever changed the lives of those today aged 25 to 40, and those, like me, who were just stepping into the world of attraction towards boys. After all, Seth and Ryan perfectly represented two opposite but complementary types of men. The rich, neurotic nerd with daddy's money, charming in a geeky way, and the tough guy who couldn't express his feelings and took refuge in anger due to his unfortunate circumstances. Personally, I had a crush on Ryan, and only later did I fully appreciate Seth's appeal. Today, we focus on him, or rather, on Adam Brody, the actor who played him.
Nobody Wants This arrives on Netflix, and Adam Brody Mania is back
After what seems like years of minor roles and a conscious distancing from the global fame brought by the adorable and slightly neurotic Seth Cohen, Adam Brody is back as the male lead in a romantic series, and his fans couldn't be happier. The series is titled Nobody Wants This, has just landed on Netflix, and everyone's already talking about it. The plot revolves around Noah (played by Brody), a rabbi who recently broke up with his long-time girlfriend, and Joanne (Kristen Bell), an agnostic podcaster who talks about sex. Despite their profound differences and interference from friends and family, the two will try to start a love story, and it won't be easy.
Leighton Meester and the online conversation about Seth Cohen: What defines a nerd today?
In the minds of those in love with Seth Cohen, truth be told, Adam Brody never really left. A part of this is due to his relationship with Leighton Meester, the unforgettable Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. The two met on the set of The Oranges in 2011, began dating in 2013, and got married in 2014. Their two children were born in 2015 and 2020. Thanks to this multi-television connection, the actors have secured a special place in the hearts of TV enthusiasts, remaining in the collective memory. It's no surprise. Nearly 20 years later, Seth Cohen remains the blueprint for nerds who are a bit awkward but charming, clumsy but kind, skinny and with curls, who have gone from being the slightly dorky types to becoming attractive, sweet, and funny guys, both on and off-screen. Does Timothée Chalamet ring a bell?
