Who do we want to see at Belve?
Our humble suggestions from Chiara Ferragni to Beppe Sala
November 18th, 2024
Is there a format in contemporary Italian television that gets people talking as much as Belve, Francesca Fagnani's interview show? Few, apart from the usual Amici di Maria De Filippi, Temptation Island, and Uomini e Donne. With her direct, straightforward, no-nonsense approach and her very selective choice of guests, the Roman journalist dominates our conversations, becoming the topic of coffee machine chats and study room discussions the next morning. While we await the next season, here are our humble suggestions for a complete and varied lineup, full of entertainment and thought-provoking moments.
Chiara Ferragni on Belve
We're all waiting for it. After Fedez, it's only fair that Chiara Ferragni should have her turn. The digital entrepreneur has plenty to say, and surely a few things to clarify and get off her chest. It seems that negotiations are already underway. In our opinion, it could be a great opportunity for her to share her side of the story and stand out, even under Fagnani's relentless barrage of questions, which we’re sure wouldn't shy away from anything or anyone.
Miuccia Prada on Belve
The queen of Italian fashion, perhaps in one of her iconic coats or suits with shiny buttons, would have plenty to share with the host. She might have to swap the high stool for a more comfortable armchair, but it would be worth it. Imagine what she could say about the current state of Italian fashion, the secrets behind it, and the history of Prada and Miu Miu. Would Fagnani manage to extract some gossip, or would Miuccia remain cool and unflappable as we've come to love her?
Chiara Facchetti on Belve
Switching gears, because variety is the spice of life. Chiara Facchetti is a YouTuber and content creator who went viral for her quirky and outlandish videos, where she talks about her fear of flying and driving through tunnels. Between one expensive purchase and another, would she be able to justify her behavior to the relentless Francesca Fagnani? Will we find out if she's serious or just playing a part? So many questions, and hopefully some answers.
Maria De Filippi on Belve
She's the matriarch of Mediaset, and seeing her as a guest on Rai 2 would be quite the event. It would also be intriguing to watch her go head-to-head with Francesca Fagnani, who is as strict and meticulous as Maria herself. Who would come out on top? Perhaps the two powerhouses would form an alliance instead, creating a conversation about the Italian showbiz industry that could be archived and studied for years to come. After all, when two competent, powerful women are talking, all we can do is sit up and listen.
Alberto Angela on Belve
Sapiosexual crush for every generation, Alberto Angela has guided us through Egyptian tombs, Roman aqueducts, and catacombs for years, ever since we were kids watching documentaries with our parents, wide-eyed in wonder. It feels like we've known him forever, yet we know so little about him. Perhaps Fagnani could get him to open up about his private life—just a little—out of curiosity.
Beppe Sala on Belve
He's been the mayor of Milan since 2016, and we wonder what the future holds for him. On social media, he gives us glimpses of his personal life, his walks through the neighborhoods of Milan, and some insights into his family. Yet, his image remains highly institutional, even when keeping up with the times. We need Francesca Fagnani for a memorable showdown that won't accept half-hearted answers.
