October 10th marks World Mental Health Day, an event first recognized in 1992 and celebrated with campaigns and initiatives aimed at promoting and raising awareness about mental well-being worldwide. L'Oréal Professionnel, through its Brand Cause Head Up, has long been committed to protecting the mental well-being of hairstylists. To celebrate, they decided to gift their community of brand lovers a precious self-care moment with a talk on mental wellness and a yoga session, all powered by nss G-Club.
The importance of awareness and gratitude: the talks
Before diving into yoga, the participants had the opportunity to listen to and engage in two talks, both focused on mental well-being and the importance of awareness and empathy for hairstylists and others. The event concluded with a touching moment: the speaker, Sergio Castiglia, and Ilaria Bianchi – hosted by content creator Giulia Bernardi – asked attendees to write on a board the things they were grateful and happy for, things that contribute to their mental well-being but are often taken for granted. The results were revealing: everyone appreciated someone in their life and was grateful for what they bring to it. Some wrote about friends, some about family, others about pets. In the end, we all place our love and part of our mental well-being in the hands of others who have chosen to share their lives with us, including hairstylists.
Yoga with L'Oréal Professionnel
Next, the yoga instructors guided the girls through two relaxing sessions, free from judgment or fear, reconnecting them with both their minds and bodies. The room immediately fell into a contemplative silence, broken only by the instructors’ guidance and the participants’ deep breaths. By the end, everyone involved admitted to being sweaty but satisfied, feeling enriched by the experience and the hours spent together.
