Cuffing Season applications are open: how to land someone for the winter Ready to get involved and find someone to warm your feet in the coming cold months?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Cuffing Season. We just had the Autumn Equinox, the official start to autumn, and that means it’s time to cuff. Cuffing season is the time of year from September to February when we try to settle down with someone, or “cuff,” to get through the cold months. It’s essentially a winter-long situationship. Think of this person as who you will get cozied up with binge-watching TV, going to cute markets on the weekend, and making cookies with. If you’re looking to “cuff,” you’re in luck. Here are our top tips for where to find singles.

Run clubs

Yes, we know the idea of a run club can be super intimidating. It’s a bunch of fit people getting together every weekend to go for a run, right? Not necessarily. With the rising popularity of run clubs, more inclusive run clubs are popping up in most cities. Ranging from beginner-friendly to hybrid run/walk clubs, you can find run clubs for any fitness level, making it a great place to find people to chat with. I mean, how else are you going to pass the time? Some run clubs even ask people to wear color-specific clothing based on their relationship status.

The supermarket

This past summer, a TikTok went viral, highlighting how people in Spain meet other singles at supermarkets where singles had to place an upside-down pineapple in their cart to signal they were looking for more than just canned fruit. Now, supermarkets across Europe have started their own singles hour with specific signals for local singles. While maybe a little unorthodox, try the supermarket if you’re looking to meet someone IRL.

Date events

It might sound cringe, and you might be thinking of those horrible speed dating events you’d see in old 00’s rom coms, but in reality, date events are becoming massively popular. In most major cities, dating events, specifically blind dating events, are popping up. It might sound intimidating, but many people are sick of dating apps and looking to meet people in person. If this sounds like you, try a dating event. It could even be a lot of fun.

The timing of the cuffing season

Okay, now that we’ve inspired you with where you can find your winter fling, it’s important to understand a few key timeline markers for cuffing season. August is when we scout potential candidates, September is when we draft our recruits, and October is for tryouts and a first round of cuts. November is when we officially cuff someone for the winter until February, when we set them loose in time for Hot Girl Summer.
