Tom Holland will star in Christopher Nolan's next film What we know so far about this project and the actor's future work

It is rumored that Tom Holland is in talks to join the cast of Christopher Nolan's next film. It seems that the contract signing is almost certain, and if so, it would confirm the great success of the actor, both in his private life, but especially in his professional one. The new, top-secret project from the director of Oppenheimer would be, for the Spider-Man star, the cherry on top of a rising career and the confirmation of his status as a talented actor, similar to what happened with Cillian Murphy.

Everything we know about Nolan’s new film

There are very few confirmed details about Christopher Nolan's next project. We know the name of the production company, Universal Studios, the release date, July 17, 2026, and that Matt Damon will also be in the cast alongside Holland. As for the plot, it seems it will be set in a different time from the present, though it's unclear whether it will be the past or the future. Nolan, who will co-produce the film with his wife Emma Thomas and their company, Syncopy Films, will serve as both director and screenwriter. He revealed to ComicBook that he wants to work on something less dark than Oppenheimer: "Part of me wants to leave the story behind. I mean, it's a great privilege to be able to talk about a film that you’ve made that’s now going into the home and on 4k and Blu-ray and all the rest. It's great to be able to sit here and talk to you about the success of the movie. That's a huge privilege. But the subject matter is very dark. It's nihilistic. And, yeah, there's part of me that's quite keen to move on and maybe do something, you know, not quite as bleak." There’s also a rumor reported by IO9 suggesting that the project could be a vampire film set in the 1920s. Could it be true?

Tom Holland's upcoming projects

Tom Holland is definitely a busy man. Long-time boyfriend of Zendaya, he has just launched BERO, his brand of non-alcoholic beers. In 2023, he starred in the miniseries The Crowded Room on Apple TV, while last summer he worked on the London theater production of Romeo and Juliet, which ran for 12 weeks at the Duke of York's Theatre. In the coming months, Tom will have to juggle not only Nolan's project but also the fourth chapter of Spider-Man, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and Avengers: Doomsday.
