Do you listen to podcasts? This form of entertainment has experienced a tremendous surge in recent years. Podcast Trends in Italy According to Spotify

Podcast consumption in Italy has seen a significant rise, with a 40% increase in listeners compared to 2023. This growth is highlighted by the latest data presented by Spotify at the event The Podcast Era - Free 2 Create, revealing that in our country, nearly one in three users regularly listens to podcasts on the platform. This growth aligns with global trends, where podcast listeners have grown by over 40% since 2023. Categories that have seen the most growth over the past year include Business & Technology, Sports, and True Crime, with True Crime remaining in the top three most-listened-to categories alongside Politics & Current Events and Talk Shows & Interviews.

The Comeback of Video, but in Hybrid Form: The Videopodcast

The videopodcast is proving to be the format with the most significant growth: the percentage of users consuming videopodcasts in the past year has increased by 80% compared to 2023, with a monthly average more than doubling (60% year-on-year). This trend is also confirmed by the increase in videopodcast publishing by creators on the platform, which has risen by 80% in the past year. Generation Z continues to lead this growth, showing a staggering 130% increase in video content consumption over the past year.
