July 28th, 2020
The dream of all music stars is to collaborate with Madonna. Even for Dua Lipa who from her social profiles announces the partnership with the Queen of Pop. On August 14th the duo will release a new version of Levitating, a song included Future Nostalgia, in the latest album of the singer of Albanian origin, and will be joined by two other great artists: Missy Elliott and the American dj The Blessed Madonna who will produce the track.
Following Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and the duet with Britney Spears in Me Against the Music, which culminated in the iconic kiss at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, it's now up to Dua to meet her idol, one of the most influential artists of contemporary music, who has always been a symbol of female empowerment.
Dua told me she aspired to be Madonna when I met her, when she was 17, and there was something about the way she said it that made me believe her. - Ben Mawson, Lipa's manager, said, revealing how Confessions on a Dancefloor has heavily influenced the 80s dance music aesthetic of Future Nostalgia. - It was about her personality, her charisma, her competitiveness and her drive and that came across…unlimited potential.
The remix of Levitating will be released on August 14th and will be followed by Dua's other featuring, the one for J Balvin's new single, Un Día / One Day, which is becoming popular also thanks to the video starring Úrsula Corberó aka Tokyo from Money Heist.
