Dog couture is the new must-have for your pets
September 8th, 2021
Dog couture isn’t a new fashion subculture but the latest street-wear and luxury fashion product category fronteer. In the “every errand can be a catwalk occasion” era, let your furry best friend be his best version of himself matching your outfits to recreate a full Paris Street Style fashion mood. Recently, big names such as MISBHV, Diesel, Woolrich, Moncler and Poldo Dog Couture, Marine Serre, Prada, Versace, Christian Cowan, Thom Brown, Ashley Williams started increasingly proposing pet-friendly items in their collections, and then Zara followed.
It’s always a good moment to treat our pet friends. Let’s discover together the coolest fashion pet wear collections.
MISBHV
Dog-size hoodies, puffers, t-shirts and bandanas meant to be worn over studded collars decorated in monogram (in full MISBHV style) make up a collection created for tough guys as well as adorable pups who might wear it as well. Lime green Puffer Jackets that might do in a particularly dark evening, or hard rock t-shirts suitable for every Sunday morning at the park: the choice is all yours.
MONCLER X POLDO DOG COUTURE
Moncler’s renown genius provides its expertise to our inseparable furry friends in a brand new collection for dogs with super useful waterproof capes, easy to fold and carry in a bag, and puffer coats dyed in a wide color range, from pure black to soft pin (without forgetting camo, of course), studied with the maison Poldo Dog Couture, first released in the last 2020 F/W collection.
MARINE SERRE
One of the last year’s most successful brands, Marine Serre, transforms its own fluid design vision into pet pieces to be worn by the most fashionable dogs out there. The iconic crescent moon of the logo gets featured on harnesses with and without pockets, collars and puffers in different sizes to promote inclusivity even in the animal world.
PRADA
The milanese most known fashion house couldn’t miss the chance to impress his own powerful logo on calf-skin leather and signature Prada nylon to create harnesses with and without pockets, bandanas, leather collars and raincoats that melt minimalism and functionality.
VERSACE
Versace’s baroque print is available for dogs since recent times, and is again protagonist of a collection that's different from other pet collection, as it focuses both on dog fashion and lifestyle. A Medusa logo golden buttoned dog leash and collar match with a dog-sized Versace bathrobe and bed, and will make your dog live in luxury.
THOM BROWNE
Thom Browne declines its revolutionary and genderless sartorial appeal to the dog world, with a collection made up by cashmere button-up pullovers in a serious gray, that will make your pawed friend look preppier than ever before.
ASHLEY WILLIAMS
Colorful patterned wool sweater vests for dogs in patchwork or flower prints by Ashley Williams are the new “warmers” for trendy dogs. What else could you desire to step up your dog’s sense of style?
DIESEL
DIESEL has just announced its very first petwear collection, named Diesel Doggies Collection, which includes 4 garments designed for toy dogs and small four-legged friends: two denim jackets with rock'n'roll-inspired patches, and two sweatshirts in gray and camouflage. The collection is already available in selected stores and on the brand's website.
FAY & POLDO DOG COUTURE
The luxury petwear brand Poldo Dog Couture never stops and continues to collaborate with big names in fashion, and after Moncler and Dsquared2 now it's time for FAY, a brand that has transformed workwear into cool clothing for everyday use. The two brands have reinterpreted FAY's iconic garments, such as the padded jacket and fleece, making them functional and pleasant for 4-legged friends.
WOOLRICH x TEMELLINI DOG À PORTER
Last August Woolrich joined forces with the Italian brand Temellini, leader in the development of tailored garments for dogs, to present its first collection dedicated to the world of dogs. Perfect for the upcoming season and inspired by the brand's archive, the collection was created with the aim of protecting our four-legged friends from the cold, rain and any atmospheric agent, thanks to the use of premium and water-proof materials.
