The news came like lightning out of the blue: Britney Spears had a miscarriage and lost the baby she happily announced she was expecting last April. This was revealed by the singer herself who, together with her future husband Sam Ashgari, published a touching shared post on her Instagram profile in which she asked for privacy during this difficult time:
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along. However we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment."
Britney who already has two older boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James, by her ex-husband Kevin Federline, wanted to be a mother for the third time for a long time, but the conservatorship that lasted for over 13 years prevented her from doing so. So the news of her new pregnancy, which came just six months after a judge ended her father's legal guardianship, seemed almost like the happy ending the star's many fans had been waiting for. For the first time in a long time, Britney was once again in control of her existence and her future, torn between her mom-to-be commitments, the making of her wedding dress with the help of Donatella Versace and the rest of her wedding preparations. She seemed finally happy. Then, life's umpteenth misfire. Among the many messages of solidarity that appeared under the post announcing the miscarriage was one from Sam Asghari, who wrote:
"We will have a miracle soon."
And we sincerely wish it for both of them.
