The best beauty looks of NYFW Women's FW20

From the dark lipsticks of Rodarte to the coral shades of Oscar de la Renta

The best beauty looks of NYFW Women's FW20 From the dark lipsticks of Rodarte to the coral shades of Oscar de la Renta

The last Fashion Weeks for the SS20 season, in New York and in the other cities of fashion, we saw unforgettable beauty moments. From the colourful Euphoria-style make-up by Pat McGrath to the hairstyles with braids and ponytails, the beauty looks were the protagonists, as they are now during the New York Fashion Week Women's FW20.

In the backstage, make-up artists and hairstylists create the special effects we see on the catwalks to decorate the looks of the models. We have identified some recurring beauty trends, such as the dark lipsticks in cold shades of Rodarte and Laquan Smith, the bold hairstyles of Area and Palm Angels, and the lips in shades of red, from neon to coral, for Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu and Proenza Schouler. Color is also the protagonist of beauty looks during the fashion shows: the yellow texture on the models face chosen by Collina Strada, for example, or the blue eyeshadow by Prabal Gurung - but there are also designers who choose the classic black revisited in a graphic way, like Vera Wang and Rag & Bone.

Among all these spectacular beauty looks, we have selected our favourite ones and created a mini shopping guide with some products to replicate them.

RODARTE

For Rodarte's models, the hairstylist Odile Gilbert created a "dramatic" look: soft hair gathered or untied, decorated with a veil and real and fake flowers. The theme recalls the mysterious world of vampires, also in the makeup of James Kaliardos - bright skin and matte lipstick in shades of purple.
Must-have product: NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

For Oscar de la Renta, the focus of Tom Pecheux's make up is on the lips and eyebrows. The make-up artist chose a bright (almost neon) poppy red lipstick, and the eyebrows are full and tidy. The hair, following the rules of Odile Gilbert, is collected in a ponytail or pulled back to leave the jewel earrings uncovered.
Must-have product: Bobbi Brown Brow Shaper & Mascara

VERA WANG

We know that Vera Wang's favorite color is black. For her ready-to-wear collection, the models are a mix of gothic and ethereal, and the black details of the garments - present in every look between ruffles and chiffon - recall the extreme graphic eyelashes applied to the models.
Must-have product: Milk High Volume Mascara

PROENZA SCHOULER

Hairstylist Guido Palau recreated a perfect wet-effect on all the models, and after "sculpting" models' hair, he left a few slicks on their face, giving intentionally a messy effect. The hairstyle, together with a nude make-up (decorated only by the coral-red lipstick, not always present on the models) gives a sense of naturalness and simplicity.
Must-have product: KMS moulding paste

TOM FORD

Tom Ford moves to Los Angeles for his fashion show, inspired by the city of cinema for the make-up of his models: a smokey eyes with warm and golden shades, with golden straws that give brightness and sensuality to the look. Perfect contouring defines and sculpts the models' faces. The accessories are precious hair-clips and extra-large feather earrings.
Must-have product: Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
