Chanel presents the Holiday 2020 collection: Les Chaines D’Or de Chanel
Eyeshadows, lipsticks and nail polishes for a bright, feminine and sophisticated make-up
November 12th, 2020
Following the five bath and body essentials dedicated to its most iconic fragrance, Chanel reinterprets Maison's glamorous and sophisticated universe with Les Chaines D'Or, the Holiday 2020 Collection. This time, the inspiration comes from the iconic golden chain woven with black leather that, since it first appeared on the 2.55 bag created by Mademoiselle Coco in February 1955, has become a symbol of the French brand and that we now find embossed on all the powders in the collection, such as the Poudre Blush and the OMBRE PREMIÈRE eyeshadows.
Global Creative Makeup & Color Designer Lucia Pica re-created the sparkle and graphic effect given by the original combination of skin and metal, black and gold, in a series of items conceived to illuminate the face of every woman, which are perfect for the upcoming Christmas holidays, but also to infuse confidence and beauty every other day of the year. The new collection focuses on a palette of deep shades, characterized by copper or platinum reflections, for bold make-up.
One of the most versatile essentials of this Holiday collection is the Poudre Blush Illuminator, thanks to its pinkish undertone powder which gives the face a softly sculpted but natural effect capturing the light in a discreet way.
How to apply: You can apply it either with PINCEAU BLUSH PINCEAU N°110 or with one of the PINCEAUX POUDRE and then blend the contours with your fingers or using the rounded tip of PINCEAU DUO PAUPIÈRES RÉTRACTABLE N°200 dipped in a concealer or foundation beforehand, for a more even and radiant effect. Lucia Pica recommends removing the powder with the thin side of the applicator and applying it to the cheeks, temples and back of the nose, for delicate accents of luminosity. While if you prefer a warmer result, sweep over larger areas of the face, such as the cheeks and forehead, with the flat side of the applicator, working down to the shoulders and décolleté.
Les Chaines D'Or de Chanel's PREMIÈRE Poudre are available in four shades, all with satiny, pearly finishes: 925 Or Antique, 926 Or Blanc, 927 Cuivre Rose and 928 Cuir Brun. Their soft and silky texture makes them easy to wear alone, mixed or layered.
How to apply: Take some eyeshadow with the flat part of the brush and sweep over the entire eyelid to sculpt and define the eyes. Then, use the blending tip to extend the eyeshadow outwards and blend the edges. If you want to play with colors, remember to use a dark shade to define the eyes and deepen the eyelid crease and the lighter shades to enhance them.
Even with the face mask, lipstick remains a must in every woman's make-up. And what could be better to shine in such a dark period than a product with bright golden sparkles, like the new ROUGE ALLURE range? There are four Holiday 2020 colors: Rouge d'Or, a glowing red; 107 Or Beige, a caramel beige; 117 Or Cuivré, a brick red; 127 Rouge d'Or, a bright red; 137 Pourpre d'Or, a scintillating plum.
Lastly, there is a new LE VERNIS nail polish, 773 Chaîne d'Or, which, with its vibrant antique gold-tone, gives an ultra-glamorous touch to holiday make-up.
You can find Les Chaines D'Or de Chanel online and in store, but also at selected retailers.
