Chanel introduces the new "Chanel Connects" podcast series

The present of fashion is digital. In order to consolidate the bond with fans and customers, most brands have launched new initiatives and creative projects such as challenges, fashion videos, games and, above all, podcasts. Chanel has also done so. Following the success of 3.55, it is now launching on Apple, Spotify and its official website Chanel Connects, a new series of dialogues on the future of culture after the pandemic involving some of the most celebrated contemporary talents from the worlds of cinema, architecture, dance, music and fashion. A diverse cast of friends of the Maison appears in the episodes: Pharrell Williams, Tilda Swinton, Keira Knightley, Vogue Uk editor Edward Enninful, creative consultant Amanda Harlech, dancers Akram Khan and Tamara Rojo, Nicholas Cullinan of the National Portrait Gallery, artists Arthur Jafa and Jennifer Packer, designer Es Devlin, museum curator Andrew Bolton and filmmakers Lulu Wang, Garrett Bradley and Eliza Hittman.

Each of them discusses, as Yana Peel, the brand's global head of arts and culture, explained, "what matters most and what happens next", topics including the role of culture in social change, the impact of technology on creativity, the importance of storytelling, or how museums will reorganize when they reopen. Any examples? For Edward Enninful and Tilda Swinton, society will increasingly celebrate diversity:

The industry’s changed, the media landscape has changed, heroes have changed.

Change is also the key word for Pharrell, who reiterates:

Quarantining and social distancing have changed who we are as a species forever. It’s changed how we see things and where we find value.

While Keira Knightley in conversation with Lulu Wang questions the role of female voices in the world of cinema: 

We need diverse voices. I think culture is there for escapism, obviously, but mostly it’s there so that you walk in other people’s shoes and you see the world through different people’s eyes.
