Mascara: 5 mistakes to avoid
Which are the most common mistakes and how to avoid them?

Let's say it: mascara is the make-up product that really makes the difference, useful for lengthening the lashes and giving a deeper look. In the classic total black version or in the many colored variants that are found on the market nowadays, it is a versatile product suitable for any occasion and that should never be missing (both for a quick make-up in the morning or to enrich a chic make-up in the evening). Like all make-up products, however, also with regard to mascara, some precautions are necessary during application, in order to avoid excess residues, smudges and optimize the result and aesthetic performance.
1. NOT CLEANING THE BRUSH
From time to time, it is good to clean the brush simply with a little hot water or a little mild eye make-up remover. Furthermore, never forget to change the mascara every 3 months (average expiration date) as it could become polluted with the air that enters while trying to withdraw the product by performing the typical gesture of up and down before application.
2. TAKE TOO MUCH PRODUCT
The risk that you can run from applying too much mascara is the heavy and dark effect, in addition to the fact that the lashes will be too attached and lumpy. The advice is in fact to carefully comb the lashes before applying the product, without exaggerating with the quantity.
3. USE THE CURLER AFTER THE MASCARA
To prevent eyelashes from breaking, remember that the eyelash curler should only be used before applying mascara (and never after). In addition, for a correct use of the latter you must know that it should first be heated with the hairdryer in order to give shape to the lashes (as if it were a mini straightener).
4. APPLY IT WITH HORIZONTAL MOVES
The best way is first a zigzag application, and then comb them up and define them with a lengthening upward motion. Applying mascara superficially can only cause lumps and an excess of product, with a consequent bad aesthetic result, smudges and encrustations on the dark circles that weigh down and make the eyes tired.
5. PUMP THE BRUSH
Last but not least, it is a gesture that unfortunately many of us now perform automatically but it is very wrong! In this way, we only allow air and bacteria to enter the product and make it drier by wasting it and forcing us to throw it away before it is finished.
