Cardi B is launching her haircare brand
A range of products designed to educate people about the Afro-Latin hair
April 1st, 2021
Following Alicia Keys and Hailey Bieber, Cardi B has also decided to enter the beauty business. The singer announced from her Instagram profile that she is planning to launch her own line of haircare created for Afro-Latin hair. The idea to start this new project apparently came when some haters have commented in an abusive way on a video in which the star showed her natural hair. In the post she wrote that the first drop will come later this year and stressed that this "is the time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race and ethnicity". He also talked about the beauty bias tied to ethnicity:
Being Hispanic/Latina don’t make your hair long, don’t make your skin light or don’t make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands. Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair.....and one more things not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican.
Although no details on the available products have been revealed yet, Cardi shared that she is experimenting with them at home on her own and her daughter's hair. Taking a look at old posts, like the one where she showed the DIY mask to nourish curls, we can assume that the formulas will include many natural products with moisturizing properties such as avocado.
