Why do we lose our hair?
The essential steps to take care of hair density in late summer
September 6th, 2022
Hair loss is a completely normal factor, as the life cycle leads them to undergo periods when they face turnover. However, during the summer season, hair loss can become more abundant, so much so that it causes great concern. When we return from summer vacation, in fact, there is often a rather intense hair loss, more normal than usual, that lasts for a few weeks: what happens with summer sun exposure is that our scalp subjected to greater oxidative stress than at other times of the year is affected. The effects of the sun's rays can adversely affect the health of the hair and result in unexpected and intense hair loss. In addition to this external cause, other more or less incisive variables are also added, from the change of seasons, to the resumption of demanding work life, to other concomitant causes such as specific events such as pregnancy or breastfeeding, in these cases we are faced with having to deal with the reactionary hair loss triggered by one or more events such as periods of stress, emotional shocks, diets. How to remedy it?
To prevent and slow down hair loss, or when it becomes too excessive, a few things are necessary: avoid excessive exposure to the sun's rays, hydrate your body by drinking plenty of water, and follow a healthy, low-fat diet. In particular, it's good to take biotin (found in whole grains), B vitamins (legumes), vitamin E (parsley, carrots and spinach) and antioxidants (dark green leafy vegetables, berries, tomatoes and all fruits with yellow or orange skin).
Supplements can also lend a hand in weak and falling hair: to choose the most suitable ones for the purpose, look for amino acids such as ornithine and valine on the label, but also the super molecule spermidine, as well as antioxidants such as resveratrol and ganoderma lucidum, an extract of a Japanese mushroom with anti-inflammatory and cellular activity-stimulating effects. And finally, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The formula of supplements should never lack methionine, which enters into the composition of keratin, the fundamental substance of hair and nails; biotin, or vitamin B7, which contributes to hair growth and maintenance; zinc, a mineral that aids in keratin synthesis; and finally, millet, which promotes the well-being of hair and nails and is known for its restorative properties.
