The body deodorant is what we need for a fresh summer Just one spray is enough to feel comfortable

The deodorant is a part of everyone's beauty routine. We use it every day, choosing it carefully based on our skin's pH, the fragrance, its ability to limit sweating and cover odor, and the convenience of the format. When summer brings heat and humidity, this product becomes an essential ally to keep us fresh, fragrant, and always comfortable. Each year, new options flood the market, tailored to meet all individual needs, from the perfect deo for athletes to the invisible one that leaves no stains, smells, or marks. The latest trend? The body deodorant.

How to avoid sweating?

Sweating is normal and completely odorless. It's how our body prevents overheating, keeping the internal temperature around 37°. When it's hot, the body regulates its temperature by producing sweat, which sits on the skin and evaporates. In certain areas, mainly where apocrine glands are located (such as the scalp, armpits, groin, buttocks, and feet), sweat mixes with sebum and becomes food for skin bacteria. Once these bacteria die and decompose, they cause bad odor. Avoiding sweating is not only very difficult but also harmful. Let's learn to cope with it!

@dermguru Whole body deodorant? Yay or nay? #ad #SecretDeoPartner Let's start out by saying BODY ODOR IS NORMAL. But if its something you're self-conscious about, I don't recommend using any old deodorant on your sensitive areas. You also want to make sure you safely but gently treat the source of your body odor. The way to do it? Use something that addresses the bacteria on the skin that actually causes the odor with ingredients like lactic acid, alcohol, or piroctone olamine. These whole body deodorants from @secretdeodorant are a great way to do just that. They've been studied to safely and effectively be used on the most sensitive areas (from pits to privates to piggies). ONLY use on external skin. I love that there's 3 options: a cream, a stick, and a spray. None of which leave white marks or residue on your skin. Plus, can't beat the 72 hrs of odor protection! A deodorant for every need

Until now, cosmetic companies have focused on products that minimize sweating in these areas, but recently they've begun to ask why, if the human body is covered by two to four million sweat glands, we only care about the roughly 25,000 in our armpits? The answer seems to be the body deodorant, which represents not just an evolution of the classic armpit spray but also a very attractive new market segment to conquer and monetize. Especially considering that, according to Fortune Business Insights, the global deodorant market was worth $25.61 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to $42.18 billion by 2032, driven by the demand for natural deodorants and multipurpose products.

What are body deodorants and how do they work?

Body deodorants do not block sweat glands to stop sweating, but are tested and designed for external use all over the body, wherever moisture, friction, or bad odor is felt. They can be applied to combat unpleasant odors on the armpits, under the breasts, between the thighs, on the belly, arms, legs, feet, and groin area. However, be sure to apply them on clean, dry skin, only on external parts, and never on the face as it can irritate sensitive skin, causing inflammation or pustules.

What ingredients do they contain?

Generally, the major distinction is between deodorants and antiperspirants. The former only counteract bad odors, masking the smell of sweat with magnesium hydroxide or scented essential oils. The latter contain specific substances, aluminum salts, that inhibit the activity of sweat glands and consequently reduce the amount of sweat produced. Some, although unproven, fear that the ingredients in antiperspirants are linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer's and breast cancer, a belief that has led to products with alternative antiperspirant active ingredients, such as baking soda or clays, which to date have no contraindications. Body deodorants fall into the first category, meaning they do not prevent perspiration but neutralize odors with antimicrobial agents that inhibit bacterial growth, fragrances that mask odors, and ingredients that absorb moisture. A tip? Opt for gentle formulations.

Who should use body deodorants?

Body deodorants promise to reduce bad odor from head to toe. Some believe they are a means to increase our insecurities and the shame women feel about their appearance or their natural scents. Many consider them superfluous. To date, there is no evidence that body deodorants are harmful, so we can use them freely if we want. It is always a good idea to perform a two-day patch test on the inner wrist before using them on sensitive areas like the groin and inner thighs, to avoid rashes or possible allergies. This type of product, available in stick, spray, cream, and wipes, can be useful for those who cannot shower every day, for those who suffer from excessive sweating, and for those who feel very uncomfortable with their own sweat and body odor.
