Addison Rae's beauty routine
Here are what the Diet Pepsy singer's favorite products are
November 5th, 2024
To some, she’s the new Sabrina Carpenter. To others, the new Britney Spears. In reality, Addison Rae just wants to be herself. Sure, much of her artistic and aesthetic inspiration comes from the world of pop music, but the girl from Louisiana, known for her radiant smile and dance moves on TikTok, has grown up and is ready to claim her place in the world. After being crowned queen of the Chinese platform, garnering the support of over 80 million followers and a fortune to rival that of finance tycoons, she now wants to prove that she’s more than a fleeting social media phenomenon—she’s an eclectic talent capable of dancing, acting, and singing. Despite some missteps, like a beauty line that went almost unnoticed and a debut single, Obsessed, criticized by reviewers, Addison has rebranded herself with great success. Thanks to a collaboration with Charli XCX, Rae has become a Brat girl. In the videos for Diet Pepsi and Aquamarine, as well as on the red carpet, she exudes the alluring, bold “baddie” aesthetic of the early 2000s, updated with a Gen Z twist. Addison has officially entered the ranks of today’s most adored pop stars. So, what are her beauty secrets?
Addison Rae's Skincare Routine: Gua Sha and Detox Products
At a young age, the Diet Pepsi singer has tried various products before finding the ones that suit her skin, and her list of essentials still changes often. A couple of years ago, her skincare and makeup routine included 16 steps, with EltaMD sunscreen—recommended by her friend Kourtney Kardashian—and the Georgia Louise Cryo Freeze Tools, which she bought after seeing Zoey Deutch’s skincare routine. These tools use cold therapy and facial cryotherapy to soothe inflamed skin and reduce puffiness. She also adored the brand Drunk Elephant, using the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, Protini™ Polypeptide Cream, and C-Tango™ Multivitamin Eye Cream, featuring a blend of eight peptides, five types of vitamin C, and cucumber extract. So, what's changed in 2024? Each morning, Addison Rae wakes up in her Los Angeles home and sips matcha. Her favorite is an iced matcha latte with lavender. She writes down her affirmations for a confidence boost and heads to the shower. Then, she stands in front of the mirror and starts her beauty routine with Ruth Swissa Gentle Cleanser, a soothing cream cleanser that removes impurities and excess oil while calming dry or sensitive skin. Next, she sprays her face with Biba Los Angeles Glycolic Lactic Acid Face Toner, formulated with AHAs, soothing aloe vera leaf juice, panthenol, willow bark, and potent humectants, which acts as a gentle exfoliant, minimizing the look of large pores, reducing blackheads, and balancing oily skin. Then comes moisturizer, which she helps absorb using Facial Lymphatic Cupping, both from Detox by Rebecca, a brand by Rebecca Faria, who owns a Beverly Hills spa frequented by celebs like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston. Addison doesn’t forget to protect herself from the L.A. sun, applying Fenty Beauty Hydra Vizor Face Moisturizer. Finally, she hydrates her lips with Summer Fridays Lip Butter. Out of all these steps, what’s Addison’s favorite? Facial massage with a gua sha or body roller. She always makes time for her Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Pro Facial Steamer, a professional facial device that offers micro-steam technology to intensely hydrate and visibly purify the skin. Using it is like a spa treat at home. For her body, she loves Frank Body's coffee scrub and Epicuren’s coconut lotion, which she alternates with Ouai Body Crème and CYKLAR Body Cream, notable for its banana scent.
Addison Rae’s Makeup: Natural and Sun-Kissed
Addison Rae often sports a natural makeup look with a sweep of blush for a sun-kissed glow. She achieves this by alternating between Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Foundation and ILIA Beauty’s Super Serum Skin Tint. She follows a multi-step approach, applying a creamy blush to her cheeks, followed by a bronzing powder, and illuminates with Charlotte Tilbury’s Goldgasm. She uses a chocolate-colored brow pencil to draw on faux freckles. She also pays attention to her brows, brushing them up for a full, groomed look using Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel. On her lips, she wears Nars’ Banned Red Bullet, calling it “my absolute favorite lipstick color,” as well as lipsticks by Dior and Lisa Eldridge’s True Velvet Lip Colour in the Velvet Enchantment shade. Addison has said she loves a good MAC lip liner, especially in the shade Boldly Bare, which she even applies on the bridge of her nose “to match my lips and give that sun-kissed look.” For red carpet events, her makeup is done by Nina Park or Pat McGrath, who created Rae’s modern Marilyn look for the 2024 VMAs. What did she use for the perfect base? All products from her own brand: Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, Concealer, Setting Powder, and Bronzer. She chose Divine Cream Blush in Electric Bloom and Cherish for a touch of pink on the cheeks and completed the look with Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil in Belle Amour.
Addison Rae's Hair Care: Hydration is Key
Addison frequently changes her hair color, moving from brunette to honey blonde, but she loves having long hair that falls over her shoulders and frames her face. Like many stars, she entrusts her hair to experts, but her daily hair care routine is easy to replicate. After shampooing, she sometimes uses Inphenom, she lets her hair air-dry instead of using a blow dryer. For a more polished look, she applies a small amount of Olaplex smoothing cream and uses Dyson's latest Air Wrap straightener on the lengths. For a finishing touch, she sprays on KKW’s golden currant berry perfume, a gift from her friend Kourtney. Once a week, she applies the Ouai Treatment Mask, a treatment that helps restore hydration, repair damage, and add shine to her hair, thanks to ingredients like shea butter, panthenol, and hydrolyzed keratin. Her favorite brush? The Vented Brush by Yves Durif.
Addison Rae's Favorite Fragrance
Addison Rae’s first fragrance obsession was Britney Spears' Fantasy, which she used to buy in mini-size at the mall so she could keep it in her purse for a quick spritz anytime. Now that she’s older, she changes her fragrance depending on her mood and the occasion. She shared: “If I were going out with someone, I’d wear a different fragrance than I would if I were going home or seeing my family. I always thought it was really nice to associate different moments with different scents.” Recently, she admitted to often wearing Chill AF by Addison Rae Fragrance, from her own line, which combines ripe apple extracts with red citronella and chamomile.
