Jacquemus enters beauty business with L'Oréal And we already want to know more

"Fifteen years ago, I began dreaming of and creating Jacquemus, with perfume and beauty always part of my vision for the brand. Today, I am proud to continue shaping this dream with the leading beauty group, L’Oréal. I’m excited to see what the future holds for us."With these words shared on Instagram, Simon Porte Jacquemus announced that he has signed an exclusive, long-term partnership in the beauty sector with L’Oréal Groupe.

From Fashion to Beauty: Jacquemus Chooses L’Oréal

As early as 2021, there were rumors that Jacquemus would enter the beauty sector and sign an agreement with Puig. At the time, the Spanish fashion and cosmetics company, which produces perfumes for Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, and Jean Paul Gaultier, had acquired a 10% stake in the brand. However, the collaboration did not work out, and Jacquemus regained full ownership of the stake. Despite this initial setback, the desire to transform the fashion house into a true lifestyle brand remained strong. This ambition was reaffirmed by Simon Porte Jacquemus in an interview with Le Figaro in October 2024, on the occasion of the opening of the brand’s first store in New York: "We’re also thinking about diversifying into beauty. Jacquemus has everything it takes to be a great beauty brand; we have the universe, the art of living and the magic to do it". Now, it seems he has found the right partner in L’Oréal.

Jacquemus Beauty Becomes Reality

L'Oréal has acquired a minority stake in Jacquemus (the exact investment amount has not yet been disclosed), thus launching an "exclusive, long-term partnership in the beauty sector" aimed at supporting the brand’s growth. What does the future hold for this new commercial venture? What will be the first beauty products launched by Simon Porte Jacquemus' brand? There is great anticipation to see how he will approach fragrances, skincare, and makeup. We can bet that the products will feature eye-catching packaging and will be accompanied by cool advertising campaigns and visuals, designed to go viral and dominate social media. For now, no details have been shared—only the excitement of both partners. As L’Oréal Luxe President Cyril Chapuy stated: "We are thrilled to welcome Jacquemus and unleash together its outstanding luxury beauty potential. With its singular brand positioning, fueled by sensational creativity and social first playfulness, Jacquemus will perfectly complement L’Oréal Luxe’s portfolio of iconic brands and reinforce our worldwide leadership."
