Born in Naples and raised in the 2000s, Ludovica enjoyed watching “Gossip Girl” and “Glee” as the perfect late Gen Z. But not only that, «My absolute favourite film is “The Truman Show”, then there's “The Matrix”, especially the first part. I can not not mention “Notting Hill”, because a romantic comedy is always good. The “Friends” series ( TV ) I watch all the time, then “Truth” to be told and “The Morning Show”.» There is also a cult film from the Italian 1960s that the actress loves. «One character I would have loved to play is Claudia in Fellini's “8½”, played by Claudia Cardinale. I like Claudia a lot and I have this dream for a thousand reasons that I cherish. One of them is definitely related to what we both went through as actresses. “8½” is the first film in which Claudia was not dubbed, the first in which she uses her own voice. Just like her, I had to learn to accept the timbre of my voice. Sometimes it was presented as a problem, but now I have learned to appreciate it and be proud of it, it's my timbre and it's authentic.» Ludovica Coscione knows what she wants and what she deserves. 105 million views on RaiPlay, 47 million hours of viewing, including 3.7 million average listening time per device. Yes, we are talking about the figures for the third season of “Mare Fuori”. «The one received is not my success. It is the success of the series. We did not expect it, I did not expect it, but I have been trying to do this business for eight years, so now I am reaping what I have sown over the years. I realise though that this is nothing, it's just the beginning, so I do not even know if I would call it a success. My days have not changed, I just have more eyes looking at me and ready to judge me, for better or worse.»
Encounters, fate, karma, missed trains, changed schedules or ass, life is also that. «There is an exact moment when I felt I was in the right place at the right time and that was a few years ago. I had travelled to Rome to see my friend's play. There were several dates I could choose from, I chose one that was not originally scheduled at all. Well, on that very day I was sitting next to the current casting director of “Mare Fuori”, Marita D'Elia. Marita recognised me because I had already auditioned for her, and she said, "Let us keep in touch, because I want you to audition for a new series, and in my opinion you are a good fit." So that's when you were right to say “bucio di culo” in italian, was not it?» She laughs. Okay, ass, luck and the stars, but passion definitely helps. And no, we do not want to talk about the performance school we like so much in Italy because we do not think so, but - sometimes - escape valves save us and remind us that we too are unique. «I have so many passions, the first that comes to mind is photography, which my father passed on to me, especially filming, then billiards, because I am 80 years old inside and proud of it.»
