Miu Miu celebrates the jeans, the most democratic and revolutionary item ever, in its new capsule collection.
Denim Icons includes six models of denim, each inspired by the decade in which it was created and by the woman most famous for wearing it. Six are the fashion icons chosen by the brand: Lauren Bacall, Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy, Jane Birkin, Brooke Shields and Kate Moss. All beautiful, cool, unforgettable and united by a common passion for jeans.
Lauren embodies the 1940s: made of dark blue heavy denim, it is reminiscent of the classic work garment with its rough and functional look. In the fifties, thanks to movie stars such as James Dean and Brigitte Bardot, jeans became a true style statement. The pair paying homage to the legendary BB, high-waisted in dark denim, has a very feminine silhouette, cut at the ankle to recall the Capri pants that the French star loved to wear. Françoise's white, straight, high-waisted denim, on the other hand, evokes the spirit of youth and emancipation that the French singer had in the 70s.
Brooke jeans are unisex, in the dark denim so loved in the eighties, now with whiskers for a more contemporary touch. The latest pair of pants is named after the most influential woman in terms of style in recent years: Kate Moss. Its wide blue jeans seem stolen from the menswear wardrobe and, with their natural and minimal elegance, take us back to the 90s.
