Fred Perry unveils the capsule collection with Akane Utsunomiya
British sportswear meets contemporary Japanese style
February 28th, 2020
Following the success of last year's project, Fred Perry once again collaborates with Akane Utsunomiya for the SS20 collection.
Akane Hasai, who founded the eponymous Japanese womenswear brand in 2009, plays with Fred Perry's classic sportswear pieces, reworking them with details inspired by English punk. The result is a mini capsule made of 5 very special items. The culottes have tape details along the leg, while the jacket, inspired by the Harrington model, features a bold white and green checkered print and overlapping front closure. The iconic polo shirt comes in two models: the first, grey, features holes revealing pink areas; the second, also available in a basic jersey version, has an oversized fit and a Tie-Dye print in soft, camouflage tones.
The Fred Perry x Akane Utsunomiya collection is available on the British brand's website and at authorized retailers.
