The pandemic is still part of our everyday life, but New York Fashion Week does not stop (at least, as far as possible).

The Fashion Week officially opens on Sunday 13th September, in a sunny New York, with the streamed show of Jason Wu, presenting his SS21 collection. The first walk down the catwalk is Indya Moore, model, activist for LGBTQI+ rights and star of the Netflix TV series Pose.

For Spring Summer 2021, I found myself far from home: that's why the inspiration comes directly from there, Tulum. I wanted to create a collection that reminded me of the bright and tropical shades that recall so many happy moments. The theme of the collection is evasion, because fashion should inspire us and make us feel happy. - explains the designer.

Through colorful items, volumes and materials that recall exotic and distant places, tunics with patterns - worn by super models Gaby Odiele, Indira Scott, and Grace Elizabeth - the collection embraces the theme of diversity, in casual clothing rewritten according to contemporary codes.

Wu confirms his social commitment, also through the creation of face masks in collaboration with Gmhc, the Gay Men’s Health Crisis organization, with profits destined for the supply of food and PPE to disadvantaged communities throughout the country.
