Sustainable and inspired by the brand's archive
November 20th, 2020
Missoni's archive is fashion heaven, full of iconic pieces that, still today, continue to inspire the brand's collections as it did for the FW20 season of M Missoni. So, for example, respecting the company's heritage, but also the mantra Remix, Reuse, Respect, Lycra's leftovers that were to be used for swimwear have become tops, satin cutouts are turned into inserts for the dresses and mohair patches decorate the cropped vests. The result of this mix'n match between past and present, are a series of sustainable, joyful, cozy pieces, characterized by the famous rainbow prints that has always made Missoni unique and recognizable. The creations also have an important ecological mood and solidarity. Some local artisans from Peru have, in fact, created sweaters and accessories working with alpaca fibers, while the comforters are part of a capsule collection in collaboration with the sustainable and animal-free brand Save The Duck.
The collection is the focus of a beautiful editorial shot by photographer Zoe Natale Mannella with styling by Silvia Bergomi and set in Puglia.
