The best looks of the Golden Globes 2021
From the Hollywood glamour of Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior to Lily Collins in Saint Laurent
March 1st, 2021
After fashion weeks, even the red carpet is becoming virtual. Hollywood adapts to the restrictions imposed by the global pandemic and, while waiting for the Oscars, goes through the general tests of this new "homemade glamour" with the Golden Globes 2021. Last night, in fact, the 78th edition of the famous awards took place, postponed with respect to the usual appointment at the end of January and presented in a double location by Amy Poehler in Los Angeles and Tina Fey in New York, with award-winners and prize-winners connected from the poolside, the bedroom or the sofa at home.
Movie awards become a way to peek into the mansions and routines of celebrities, creating a strange mash-up between comfy-chic and sparkling elegance. So Jodie Foster won as Best supporting actress in any motion picture and celebrates, in her pajamas, kissing her wife; Nicole Kidman, despite the fact that her The Undoing did not receive any award, appeared on screen in a black long dress with gold details by Louis Vuitton, next to her husband and two daughters; while Lily Collins was portrayed sitting on a gown in a gold and blue one-shoulder Saint Laurent dress.
The Crown collected a lot of awards and celebrated the talent of Emma Corrin in the role of Diana Spencer who thanked in a black and white look by Miu Miu, featuring a Pierrot-style ruffled maxi collar; while Anya Taylor-Joy aka The Queen's Gambit triumphed as best dressed in a custom Dior Haute Couture green lurex dress with cape. Very elegant were also Elle Fanning who opted for an ethereal sky-blue slip dress by Gucci; Sarah Paulson in Prada; Andra Day (Best actress in a motion picture - drama for The United States vs Billie Holiday, a movie with costumes by Prada) in Chanel; Amanda Seyfried in a creation with a bare back by Oscar de la Renta; Tiffany Haddish in custom Alberta Ferretti; Kate Hudson in Louis Vuitton. The most eccentric? For example, Cynthia Erivo in a fluorescent green model by Valentino paired with very high silver platform; Nicola Coughlan who, paying homage to her character in Bridgerton, opted for a cloud of yellow tulle created by Molly Goddard, the same designer who was also picked by Rosamund Pike.
Here are the best-dressed of the Golden Globes 2021.
