Zara unveils its Tribute Collection dedicated to Peter Lindbergh
T-shirts and sweatshirts with images of Kate Moss and Linda Evangelista
July 19th, 2021
Zara dedicates its first Tribute Collection to Peter Lindbergh. The images of the great photographer, who passed away in 2019 after a long and successful career in which he made a name for himself thanks to his elegant, evocative and timeless style, come alive on T-shirts and sweatshirts. They are basic garments in organic cotton, proposed in black or white, made special by the beautiful images of 90s iconic top models such as a very young Kate Moss, Amber Valletta portrayed in an angel version in 1993 (which is one of the most popular Instagram posts still nowadays), Linda Evangelista on Bahama beach, Helena Christensen posing with an alien for Vogue Italia and Lynne Koester in Comme des Garçons.
The project is not only a celebration of one of the most important names in the history of fashion and photography, but it also has a charitable side. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Franca Fund, named after the legendary director of Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani, which supports work on preventive genomics. Selecting the works was creative director Fabien Baron, a great friend of Lindbergh, who explains how the artist and Sozzani shared similar souls:
Peter and Franca were, each in their own way, true legends in the industry and responsible for some of the most iconic fashion images made over these past decades. Their creative partnership was based on trust, excellence, and always challenging the status quo. I miss them both more than words can say and am honored that perhaps this project helps introduce a new audience to their work, as well as helping address some of the social change that Franca, in particular, felt so passionate about.
The Icons by Peter Lindbergh collection is now available at Zara.com and will be delivered in special, re-usable packaging designed specifically for the capsule.
