The 5 best Nike’s "jewelry" sneakers

To add a touch of bling bling to your sneaker rotation

The 5 best Nike’s jewelry sneakers To add a touch of bling bling to your sneaker rotation

When jewelry is incorporated into sneakers, what do you call it? Well, one might use the term "sholerry". "Sholerry" is nothing new by any means. For decades in high fashion, jewelry has been featured in footwear as a way of making a bright and shiny statement without necessarily altering the overall shape of a silhouette. In recent years, sneaker brands, particularly Nike and Jordan, have added jewels, chains, watches, and even pins to their most popular silhouettes, making them far more wearable than the avant-garde pairs seen on the runways. Though some have come across as a corny way of attracting a female audience to sneakers, there are some real gems (pun intended) that have been released over the years that are worth a mention. So, if you're hunting for the best bling for your feet, look no further than nss-G Club for the best of Nike's bejewelled sneakers, ranging from high fashion collaborations to widely available GR's and more!

Nike Shox TL x CDG

Rei Kawakubo of COMME des GARCONS blessed us with another killer collaboration with long-time sneaker collaborator Nike back in 2019. This time around, the silhouette of choice was the Nike Shox TL; it's not often that you see a collaboration on the renowned Shox silhouette, so you know you're in for a treat when it does! Instead of the typical cage-like upper, they radically rework the upper's design, opting for a light mesh construction with a unique textile overlay, giving the  bulky silhouette a very DIY look. But what makes these sneakers really shine is the chunky CDG logo chain that wraps around the midsection of the sneaker. The black shoe includes a gold chain, while the white shoe comes with a silver chain. Both can be removed and worn as separate pieces of jewelry, so essentially you're getting two accessories in one, blinged up from head to toe!

Nike Air Force 1 Low 07 LX Bling

Jewels, like gleaming chains and pendants, are also a part of the bling family. The bejeweled Nike Air Force 1 '07 LX Bling is one of the most coveted WMNS AF1s in recent years, and it was even popular enough to earn a re-release for summer 2021. Nike brings subtle bling to the AF1 by decorating the lace section with two gem-like pieces, dressed in heather and aquamarine, as well as an iced-out Swoosh emblem that lies in between. Staying true to the timeless silhouette that is the  AF1, the body is finished in classic neutral tones. The extended tongues are a light beige color, while the base structures and sole pieces go for a more bright white. Furthermore, if you look closely, you can see that the Swooshes have been modified with a crinkled, almost crocodile skin-esque pattern to complete this angelic pair of kicks.

Melody Ehsani “Fearless” Jordan 1 Mid

Through her jewelry and garment designs, as well as her new work as creative director of Foot Locker Women's, Melody Ehsani is continuing to break stereotypes and advocate for equality, wholeness, and self-expression for women. As one of the few women who had the opportunity to design their own Jordan, she made sure to showcase her passion for jewelry through complimenting her vibrant Jordan 1 Mid with a gleaming accessory. Yet the most eye-catching element is the gold watch face, which sits atop the laces. Keeping it stylish and balancing the gold, she opted for a black watch face, with ME and the number 23, symbol of Jordan Brand. Though traditionally worn on your wrist, you'll have to look a little further down, perhaps even crouch a little, to see the time. But It's the bling factor that really counts!

Cactus Plant Flea Market  x Nike Dunk Low

These Nike dunks, which are essentially a walking disco ball, are not in the least bit subtle. Last year's CPFM Nike Dunk Lows were almost entirely covered with Swarovski crystals. This insanely bejeweled sneaker is available in two colorways: Pure Platinum and Spiral Sage both with an exaggerated Swoosh, padded tongue and detachable double lace flaps. This is reminiscent of rhinestone home fashion projects from the '90s while also celebrating Cactus Plant Flea Market's energetic DIY flair. If you're not blinded by the sheer brightness of the crystals, you'll notice the Double Vision tag and insoles, which juxtapose the whole look with a dynamic color palette of red, blue, orange, green, and more. Plus a green dust bag with CPFM's distinctive branding secures the blinged-out dunks. But keep in mind this dunk duo comes at a hefty price, going for upwards of $3,000 on the resell market, they cost a whopping $550 at retail.

Nike Air Max 90 “Princess Charming”

You can't go anywhere these days without seeing someone wearing a cute, almost childlike beaded necklace around their neck, phone case, wrist, or tied to anything. The fun 00's jewelry trend shows no signs of dying down, so Nike couldn't help but join in. So this year Nike released a pastel-colored Air Max 90 sneaker with a charm bracelet attached to the midsection. This women's Nike Air Max 90 is colored in light tones of sunny yellow with smiley face details. Two extra tabs have been added to secure the branded charm bracelet in place, allowing it to dangle gracefully off the side of the heel. While the charms themselves are colored in teal, blue, red, and pink lettering that reads "NIKE" accompanied by a smiley face charm with a Swoosh in place of the smile - a nod to the brand's Have A Nike Day slogan. This sneaker is a spring must-have and a wonderful alternative if you missed out on the Lemon Drop Dunks earlier in the year.
