Half-moon bags are the must-have accessory of the season. Just take a look at the latest collections or scroll through our Instagram feeds and you'll see that no influencer or celebrity, from Alexa Demie to Hailey Bieber, can resist their eye-catching yet minimalist design. It doesn't matter whether they're made of leather or fabric, covered in crystals or fringes, in basic shades or vitamin tones. What matters is that they have the shape of a crescent moon, a slice of absolute perfection to wear on the shoulder and show off to add a touch of coolness to our daily outfits.
Just a few days ago, Doja Cat appeared in front of the flashing lights of the 2022 Grammy as a modern-day Cinderella, wearing a crystal-studded blue Versace dress and accessorizing it not with the traditional shoes, but with the Coperni Swipe, which the singer had filled with sweets and attached a JBL speaker to. Wearing the French brand's bag on the red carpet, in its glass version made in collaboration with Breanna Box and Peter Dupont of Heven and presented for the first time during the autumn/winter 2022 fashion show, Doja sealed its status as the ultimate it-bag, confirming that the passion many of us have for this precious accessory is much more than a momentary crush, but a love that will last.
The model inspired by the iPhone's swipe-to-unlock icon has been dictating fashion ever since it appeared a couple of seasons ago, becoming Coperni's best seller and also worn by Tina Kunakey and Masie Williams (who has given it a vegan twist), but it is by no means the first example of a half-moon bag to become popular.
