Celine girl's are Dans Paris in FW22 collection Presented in a fashion show held in two historic Paris locations

Hedi Slimane chose to present Celine's new collection with a video shot (and directed by himself) inside two recently renovated historic Parisian monuments: the "Salons D'Apparat" of the Hôtel de la Marine, the 18th-century building on Place de la Concorde designed and built between 1757 and 1774 by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, and the Hôtel National des Invalides, an example of French Baroque classicism located in the seventh arrondissement on the left bank of the Seine. These stunning spaces, which in the past hosted royal coronations and receptions for international heads of state, now become the perfect catwalk for the designer's autumn/winter 2022 creations.

The sound of Byron is dead, a track created ad hoc by Hennessey, beats in the background while Kaia Gerber and the other models walk the runway showing Slimane's cool and effortless interpretation of French style, the right meeting point between the DNA of the Maison and the aesthetics of its creative director.

Made up of essentials with an eighties echo, the collection boasts garments designed to be mixed and matched to recreate versatile stylistic identities. Straight-leg jeans with frayed hems and a much softer fit than Slimane has accustomed us to in the past are paired with turtlenecks with a similar existentialist verve, enlivened by a touch of gold or silver thanks to the accent of the chain placed on top. Basic grey hoodies become mini-dresses to be worn with riding boots to emphasize that desire for rough and contrasting style that catches the eye. The sweaters, on the other hand, have a long cape as an unexpected detail, the same concept is carried over to the oversized blazers that alternate with seasonal essentials such as leather jackets and timeless trench coats and the classic Breton stripes combined with reptile prints. Eveningwear is divided between total black and discreet sparkle. The choice is between leather mini-dresses, long dresses with cut-out details or drapes that give a twist to the essential silhouettes, metallic top-manteu or fabrics covered in sequins. All matched with black ankle boots, ultra-flat clutch bags, sunglasses and minimal jewelry.
