Balenciaga's new multi-series campaign continues where The Lost Tape left off, the digital presentation created by Harmony Korine for the Fall 2022 collection with a deliberately analog aesthetic. This time behind the camera is British artist Nadia Lee Cohen who, despite being famous for works with saturated colors that mix pop culture, kitsch, glamour and eighties opulence, recreates a clean, minimal and cool mood typical of the advertising campaigns of the 90s.
In the images, the models, including Bella Hadid and the singer Aya Nakamura, are portrayed against a neutral, aseptic background, which leaves the clothes designed by Demna Gvasalia in the foreground, from five-pocket leggings to dressing gown coats, from skimpy tops to ripped trench coats, from deconstructed slip dresses to low-waisted trousers that leave the underwear visible. The styling also emphasizes the importance and coolness of accessories such as Excavator rainboots, Kensington mules, the thigh-high Falkon boot, Knife pumps and jewelry poised between glam and industrial inspiration. There is no shortage of the brand's it-bags either: the new Lindsey, Crush, Crocs models and the popular XX, Hourglass, Everyday Tote and Le Cagole.
