Starring Kendall Jenner, Emma Corrin and other young talents

Miuccia Prada explores the purpose of fashion, its reason. Its utility in today's society and culture. What is the function of fashion? And what is its place in life? Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2023 collection and campaign seek to find an answer to these existential questions, emphasizing that the solution is much more complex than simply dressing the body, but has to do with the role as an expressive medium it plays in each of our lives. Already, because behind a skirt or a sweater hides a way to restore materiality to thoughts and suggestions that are translated through fabrics, cuts, seams and decorations.
It is now Zoë Ghertner's turn to carry forward this reflection on the function of fashion in the Milanese brand's latest campaign. The photographer, known for her naturalistic photographic style and expressive female portraits, has chosen to entrust the task to 8 interdisciplinary talents, with different backgrounds behind them, but united by a strong personality, beauty, sense of style and the courage and desire to challenge conventions: Kendall Jenner, Emma Corrin, Esther McGregor (actor Ewan McGregor's daughter also opened the SS23 show during last PFW),Ever Anderson, Achol Ayor, Quintessa Swindell, Karolin Wolter and Lim Yoona. Each of them, thanks to Lotta Volkova's styling, sports the SS23 collection's signature garments that, amidst overlays, shimmering details and transparencies, reinterpret and repurpose wardrobe and uniform archetypes. A certain minimalism stands out, made special by utilitarian details and small concessions to divertissement rendered through the use of pockets (true protagonists of the season), muted colors and layered looks, made of which tailored jackets, shorts, pants, skirts, shirts and a new flip-flop sandal, reimagined in an unusual hybrid boot version.
