The new Prada Moon bag for Spring/Summer 2023
The iconic Y2K model gets a new look for next season, between bright colours and echoes of the sailing world
February 6th, 2023
Versatile, colorful, small in size and a design that combines tradition and contemporaneity. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons have revisited the iconic model from the early 2000s to breathe life into the season's new must-have accessory, which fascinates with its very name: Moon Bag. Debuting at the SS23 fashion show, the bag captivates with its curved, bold silhouette and ultra-soft nappa leather that has been treated ad hoc to give it a slightly rounded look that emphasizes the lightness of its shape. The secret of its appeal is the details that hark back to the history and craftsmanship of the Milanese brand. The first and most obvious is the large central metal clasp, which made its debut in the Spring/Summer 2002 collection and is now emblazoned with the triangular Prada logo in enameled metal, followed by the eyelet, an element from the world of sailing, offered in metal with a silver finish on the new object of desire. As usual with the brand's bags, the structured handles, detachable shoulder strap and tonne sur tonne key ring are not missing.
Rounding out the restyling of the Prada Moon bag is a range of bright, cool and vibrant hues that make the model as appetizing as many delicious sweets that can be worn for any occasion, from the office to an aperitif with friends. Simply choose from the many colors available, depending on your mood or the occasion, and play with building contrasting or coordinating outfits. In addition to the classics of milk-white, black and caramel, the evolution of the historic Y2K model can also be purchased in sea blue (Wave), lemon yellow, geranium green and mango.
A modern conceptual synthesis of Maison's past, present and future, the new Prada Moon bag for Spring/Summer 2023 is destined to become it bag of the season and is available in all the brand's shops around the world and on prada.com.
