Givenchy's total black tailoring, Isabel Marant's sexyness in color
Here's what we want to wear for next fall winter à la française
March 3rd, 2023
The end of the fashion month brings fatigue, trends and new inspirations. Fortunately, Paris Fashion Week awakens our senses. Isabel Marant's rocking, sexy and decomposed style, Givenchy's strict and refined style open our eyes and make us dream about what we want to wear next fall-winter 2023 2024.
Givenchy has chosen nature as the central theme for its collection. The collection, which was presented at Paris Fashion Week, was all white. The garments, mainly coats, dresses and skirts, were made of wool and leather fabrics. Matthew M. Williams designs a very elegant collection that revisits the identity of the fashion house through couture pieces to which he breathes a contemporary spirit. The show begins and ends with a series of all-black looks with a masculine and austere silhouette, characterised by column dresses and double-breasted coats. While creative director Matthew Williams focused everything on an almost geometric approach, at the same time he did not miss the opportunity to devote himself to flow and softness, alternating oversize volumes with dry silhouettes. Clothes that seem contemporary and conservative at first glance then turn out to be radical with their layered looks, where weathered leather meets sweaters and skirts and then frayed houndstooth denim or crisp trousers appear in men's fabrics. Although the ingredients, styles and materials varied, the looks were built in similar aggregate states and subtly reflected a common instinct. For Fall-Winter 2023, Givenchy presents a new kind of elegance and explores what contemporary glamour means in our wardrobe.
Isabel Marant, on the other hand, presented a collection with rock influences. In the shadow of the Palais Royal, the fashion house, founded in 1995, invited its guests to a party where singer Rebecca Baby of Lulu Van Trapp played a club tune. Isabel Marant presented a return to desire and disorder. Marant has long been committed to empowering women in all aspects of her label, and that includes the kind of casual, sexy, but always vibrantly casual look that focuses on allowing the woman wearing her clothes to express herself and her physicality. In a season that celebrates and highlights the everyday and the real, Isabel Marant has created clothes that make you want to move, to make noise, to be seen and felt. The strength of Isabel Marant's collection lies in the individual pieces, which can stand on their own as well as be easily combined from head to toe. Nothing stands for party like Isabel Marant's fall-winter 2023 2024 collection.
