Acne Studios' New Platt Crackle Bag

Acne Studios' new Platt Crackle bag is online. The signature bag was first unveiled by the Swedish brand during its SS23 fashion show. Its original name derives from the Swedish word for "flat", which perfectly encapsulates the bag's almost two-dimensional character and minimalist style. On the runway, the Platt bag's classic rectangular shape with rounded edges and a long shoulder strap was embellished with an array of details, including studs, chains and a jacquard monogram pattern. For the spring collection, the bag was also introduced in a range of leather and suede options including black, mint green and peach orange. All Platt bags are made of fine leather and include a symbol of self-love: a travel pouch that contains a removable mirror with the inscription "You are Beautiful"

The latest iteration of the bag to be unveiled is the Platt Crackle, derived from the signature crackle-effect leather used to make each bag. This collection uses the versatile shape as a blank canvas for style variation and is available in three sizes. Two are already familiar: the Platt Mini Crackle with its elongated shape and the Platt Crackle, which is larger and suitable for everyday use. Each Platt is available in grey-black, acid-lime and dark beige. As the name suggests, the premium leather texture has an organic, cracked look that combines the existing shape with some of the main themes of the FW23 collection. Despite the apparent distressed effect, the bag also features a soft sheen that highlights the classic fashion paradox in Acne Studios clothing. Soft and stiff, organic yet processed, feminine and masculine.
