Dua Lipa's acting debut is called Argylle. The singer, who will unveil her new single Sweetest Pie ft. Megan Thee Stallion on Friday 11 March, will star opposite Henry Cavill in a spy thriller produced for Apple TV+. A release date has not yet been announced, but the streaming platform says it is "coming soon". The film, directed by Matthew Vaughn, famous for being the director of the Kingsman saga, and is based on the upcoming novel of the same name written by Ellie Conway which follows the adventures around the world of Argylle, the world's greatest spy who will have the face of Cavill. According to the first previews, this sort of new James Bond suffers from amnesia and is made to believe he is a successful writer. When his memories come back, however, he will start to take revenge on his enemies.
We don't yet know what role Dua will play, but in the first teaser we see her as a blonde, swathed in a shimmering gold midi dress, dancing with Cavill. The cast will include Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Sam Rockwell, Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney and Samuel L. Jackson. For now, news is out that the film "Is expected to be the first of at least three films in the franchise and is set in America, London and multiple locations across the world". Any other trivia? Apparently, Dua will create original music for the title track and the Argylle soundtrack.
