Do you know the singer-songwriter who opens for Taylor Swift's concerts?
June 30th, 2024
You’ve seen her on the most watched, filmed, envied, and TikTok-published stages around the world and at lunch with Paul Mescal, but now Gracie Abrams is ready to take the big step, transforming from an opening act singer to the main star of her career and those stages—and hopefully they will be just as international. Let’s find out more about this singer, all to discovered and listened to. Her upcoming album boasts a duet with Taylor Swift, and she opened for Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Tour. Not bad as an introduction to a shining career.

Gracie Abrams: Family, Beginnings and Songs
Gracie is the daughter of director J.J. Abrams and television producer Katie McGrath, so she can be counted among the nepo babies. However, Gracie has paid her dues. Her debut EP, titled Minor, was released in 2020, followed by her album Good Riddance in 2023. In between, she toured as an opening act for two of the most followed pop stars of this decade. Confirming her rising star status, she received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 66th Grammy Awards in 2023, and her single Everywhere, Everything (with Noah Kahan) marked her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Abrams' second album, The Secret of Us, is scheduled for release on June 21, 2024, and fans can’t wait, as they eagerly pointed out in Instagram comments.
Gracie Abrams: The Themes of Her Music and "Risk"
Straddling the line between pop and folk, Gracie tackles themes like sadness, anxiety, and complicated relationships in her songs. Over the years, she has grown into a mature and deep sad-girl, sharing her inner world in a way that is extremely relatable for girls her age and beyond, who find her vulnerable and reflective style compelling. We don’t yet know the themes of her new album—produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, just like Taylor Swift’s Folklore and Evermore—but if the single Risk is any indication, we can make some guesses. In this seemingly light and upbeat song, the singer-songwriter expresses all her anxiety about her love life, but ultimately decides to risk everything, ready to dive in without fear (or almost). A beautiful evolution, which we hope will soon translate into a world tour with a stop in Italy as well.
