The Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail is the title of the (temporary and free) exhibition at the V&A Museum in London dedicated to the pop star of the moment. Costumes, lyrics, music videos, instruments, awards, and storyboards will all be on display for the public, including many items from Swift's personal archive, some of which have never been shown to the public before, from her childhood to her global stardom. Whether you attended a tour date in Milan or London, you can now trace the career of your favorite artist.
Taylor Swift, the London exhibition: information and dates
The exhibition will open to the public on July 27 and will close on October 8. It will include 13 stops, each dedicated to a specific Era of her career. Among the items on display are the cowboy boots worn in 2007 and the black ruffled dress featured in the music video for Fortnight, a single from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
The exhibition in the words of the curator
"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase a selection of iconic looks worn by Taylor Swift," commented Kate Bailey, senior curator of theater and performance at the V&A. "Taylor Swift's songs, like objects, tell stories often drawing inspiration from art, history, and literature. We hope this museum trail will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity, and V&A objects." The exhibition at the V&A was curated by Tom Piper, known for his stage design projects for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the poppy installation at the Tower of London, and the "Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser" exhibition at the V&A.
