Who is Lennon Gallagher, the son of Liam from Oasis with a passion for fashion
Everything we know about the star of the new Burberry campaign
August 28th, 2024
In recent hours, there’s only one news story circulating across the media and social networks, bouncing from profile to profile, from magazine to magazine: the Oasis comeback. Liam and Noel Gallagher have buried the hatchet that has kept them apart for fifteen years and announced the reunion of one of the most beloved bands ever for a series of shows in the summer of 2025. Fans and ‘90s nostalgics are already buzzing, ready to scramble for available tickets. But while the past projects into the future to the tune of "Wonderwall," a new generation of Gallaghers is making its mark on the world. The first heir to capture attention is Liam’s second son, Lennon Francis Gallagher.
Lennon Gallagher, biography of a Brit Pop Nepo Baby
Patsy Kensit and Liam Gallagher met on a flight in 1995, and sparks flew immediately. Two years later, they got married. He was the moody bad boy of Brit Pop, and she alternated between roles as a singer and actress. Together, they created fireworks and a son. "If it’s a girl," Kensit, pregnant, revealed to OK magazine, "we’ll name her Grace. But if it’s a boy, Liam has already chosen the name Lennon, after his idol John Lennon." Thus, on September 14, 1999, less than a year before the couple's marriage would collapse due to disagreements and infidelity, Lennon Gallagher was born. He inherited a passion for music and fashion from his parents, but most importantly, a certain charm.
A Super Model in the Making
From his father, Liam, he inherited thick eyebrows, cheekbones, and a pout, and copied his hairstyle; from his mother, Patsy, he got the blue eyes and downward gaze—an irresistible combination that fashion quickly noticed. Lennon was only 17 when he walked the runway for Topman Design at the London Fashion Week SS18, and from there, he went on to work with MSGM, Ami Paris, Lanvin, Saint Laurent, Kenzo, and Burberry. He has been the face of campaigns for Rokh, Zadig & Voltaire, Saint Laurent, and, thanks to his British allure, he’s one of the stars of the 2024 Burberry Classic campaign. His personal style? "A hoodie and then a big coat to hide my face," he said in an interview, adding, "I wear whatever’s closest to me at the moment: baggy tees, baggy pants, baggy sneakers."
Lennon Gallagher’s Passions: Music, Manchester City, and a Girl Named Izzy
At almost 25 years old, Lennon is a rising name, but he’s also a twenty-something like many of his peers. He supports Manchester City, loves "reading, walking in parks, and watching the sky, butterflies, and birds," but also spending time with his girlfriend, Isobel 'Izzy' Richmond, who is also a model, splitting her time between London and Milan. His greatest passion? Music. The young Gallagher is the lead singer and guitarist of the post-punk band Automotion, alongside Jesse Hitchman, drummer Otis Eatwell-Hurst, and bassist Finton Hurst. Their lyrics draw inspiration from William S. Burroughs and Charles Bukowski, while their sound reveals influences from Neu! and Robert Fripp. Lennon’s favorite artists also include Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Slint.
Liam Gallagher’s Other Heirs
Lennon is not Liam Gallagher’s only heir. On his father’s side, he has a brother and two sisters. There’s the eldest, Molly, born in 1998 from an extramarital affair between the Oasis singer and Lisa Moorish. Then there’s Gene, born during the Oasis singer’s second marriage, who is also a singer with the band Villanelle. His mother is Nicole Appleton, a member of the English girl group All Saints, whom Liam was married to from 2009 to 2014. Lastly, in 2012, Gemma was born from yet another extramarital affair of Liam’s, this time with journalist Liza Ghorbani. The Gallagher lineage also includes Uncle Noel’s children, Donovan Rory MacDonald and Anais.
