What to do in Italy on the upcoming Spring weekends
From markets, to blooms and festivals in our country to enjoy the upcoming weekends
April 3rd, 2025
Spring has finally arrived, bringing the perfect time to leave winter’s chill behind and enjoy nature’s awakening—and perhaps even rediscover a bit of our zest for life. It's finally time to embrace the outdoors, watch the sunset stretch later into the evening, embark on new adventures, and create unforgettable moments across Italy. Whether it's a special market, a stroll through tulip fields, or a hike along scenic trails, spring in Italy offers endless opportunities for surprises. Ready to explore the best activities to shake off the winter slump?
What to do on spring weekends in Italy: MI AMI Festival (MI)
MI AMI ("Musica Importante A Milano") is a music festival organized by Rockit since 2005. It takes place every year in a park near Milan’s Idroscalo during the last weekend of May.
Although it seemed tough to top the big names of 2024—Lucio Corsi, CCCP, and Ex Otago—this year’s lineup is just as exciting, featuring Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Diodato, Turbopaolo (who claims he won’t sing), and Giorgio Poi. Besides the incredible performances on stage, you might also spot famous faces in the crowd… you could end up having a beer with your favorite artist!
Tulipania (BG)
In this enchanting natural setting, you can walk through themed tulip fields, take cottagecore aesthetic photos, and pick the most beautiful tulips to take home. This year, there are exciting new additions: free entry for everyone, a chance to enjoy traditional games, and a brand-new Festival of Food and Flowers. Here, you’ll find gourmet food stations, freshly prepared specialties, and the opportunity to have a unique picnic among colorful fields and chic country-style setups—perfect for a day with friends or a romantic date.
A true highlight is the decoration area, where you can personalize your tulips with an artistic touch. Floral workshops and creative activities will transport you back to childhood. Bonus? You can book a photoshoot where you’ll be the star.
Pottery Lab - Meditation and Creation (TO)
More therapeutic than a standard pottery class, yet less dramatic than that iconic Ghost scene we all know: this is the perfect place to escape the daily rush and reconnect with inner peace. A unique experience where pottery meets deep self-connection.
This workshop is designed to slow you down, relieve stress, and unleash creativity through a guided visualization meditation. Led by Counselor Laura Colombo and Ceramist Diletta Lo Guzzo, the next session is scheduled for April 12, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
"Vintage e non" (BO)
From Thursday, April 3 to Sunday, April 6, the 34th edition of the Vintage e non market will take place at the iconic Zecchino d'Oro TV studio, organized by Antoniano Insieme.
Four days of charity shopping with amazing finds: from jackets, skirts, pants, shoes, and shirts to a stunning home decor section featuring glasses, dish sets, and more. Every purchase supports rehabilitation activities for over 700 children with special needs assisted by the Antoniano Therapeutic Center.
Bloom Season & Horseback Riding in Castelluccio di Norcia (PG)
The Castelluccio di Norcia bloom is one of Italy’s most colorful and anticipated natural spectacles, attracting thousands of visitors each year. This small village in the high Valnerina region of Perugia is famous for its vast lentil fields, but even more so for the breathtaking floral carpet that blossoms every spring.
The bloom, typically occurring between late May and early July, transforms the landscape into a vibrant explosion of colors—an absolute dream for Instagram lovers. This phenomenon is as rare as it is fascinating, as the variety and intensity of colors depend on the year’s weather conditions.
For animal and equestrian enthusiasts, you can book horseback rides across the Pian Grande with Maneggio Castelluccio for a fully immersive experience.
Art of Play (RM)
Anna Pepe approved: the magic of the largest immersive exhibition on play and the whimsical world of Hello Kitty. We promised an escape from routine—and a highly Instagrammable one at that! Here, you’ll find 16 interactive installations, giant kawaii plushies, and plenty of fun. We all love Hello Kitty, don’t we?
Yellow Caves of Bibbona (LI)
For trekking and nature lovers, we suggest a perfect weekend escape: the Yellow Caves, Etruscan tombs hidden in the countryside of Bibbona, dating back to the 4th and 5th centuries. These calcarenite rock formations resemble ancient Mayan caves.
Some see ram’s horns, others a monkey’s snout, and some even liken the carvings to ancient Mayan symbols. Guided tours are available, especially in spring and summer.
